Got this one back together...New back, recarved the top bracing a bit while I had the back off, thinned out the wings of the bridge as well. Sounds better, no cracks now haha...Still needs a touch up fret dress around the joint at the 14th but all good now for one of my favorite personal guitars. This had a wide 1 13/16" nut for steel string fingerstyle, thin neck though so you don't really feel the extra width much. 25" scale, easy to play and has a very syrupy smooth and dark chocolate sound

Well the story with this is that it was loaded with 2 celestions and it was huge sounding...And way too effin loud haha....

Well the story with this is that it was loaded with 2 celestions and it was huge sounding...And way too effin loud haha...Anyways, after offering it up super cheap no one wanted this amazing ported cab I designed so I sold the speakers and now I'll cut this up and make a single speaker cab. I offered up the cab without speakers for $50 and still no one wanted it...I have a 5 watt tube amp that was so loud through this and I really thought it would be a lower volume for the wattage but nope lol...Anyways, got myself an 8" speaker, and will turn this 212 into a single 8" smaller cab, still ported and much lower in volume so I can enjoy my little Kustom tube head. Otherwise I play through a Roland Blues Cube Hot 112 which sounds amazing for a non tube amp combo, but sometimes you need a tube sound 😜

I successfully installed a nice new back on this acoustic, sprayed some finish and just doing a little buffing before I put it back together. While I had it open I touched up the top bracing, should sound even better now. I hope this is the last one I need to do surgery on haha so I can get back to building the last of them. I still have a reasonably priced acoustic for sale (for now) but not this one. This is a personal build...I'll share a finished photo with all the unique features of this one in a couple days

When you're a maker it's a great thing to find some occasional rare materials to work with like this figured mahogany that I found years ago and took my time cutting up for use. This is the only top for an electric I ever used it for, and is also extra thick for carving down and is the last of it 🥲. I have a few projects yet before I make any more electrics but I'm looking forward to this future DAB which will be a nice reminder of all the luthier experiences I've enjoyed along the way.
