Every month brings new inspiration and tools that make my blacksmithing journey even better. Here’s what I’m loving lately:

🔥 Constant Unique Jobs — Every job is different, be it a railing or drapery hardware. Having a different job every day keeps the work interesting and fun!

🛠 Favorite Hammer Design — Regularly use a Dog Head Hammer. It fits my hand like a glove and the off-set shape allows for shaping steel smoother and more precise.

📚 Dungeons & Dragons Campaign — Mixing my love for storytelling and creativity outside the forge keeps my ideas fresh. Plus, those fantasy worlds inspire some cool design concepts.

☕ Morning Coffee Routine — Early mornings with a strong cup help me start the forge fired up and ready for the day.

🔪 Healthy Habits You Can Start Today: Caring for Your Knives

Your knives work hard every day — here’s how to keep them sharp and lasting longer:

✅ Hand Wash Only — Skip the dishwasher; it dulls edges and damages handles.
✅ Dry Immediately — Prevent rust and spots by drying right after washing.
✅ Use a Cutting Board — Wood or corn husk boards protect your blade better than glass or stone and plastic cutting boards will add micro plastics to your food!
✅ Regular Sharpening — Keep your edge razor-sharp with a sharpening stone or professional service. Don’t forget about a honing rod!
✅ Store Safely — Use a knife block or magnetic strip to avoid dulling or accidents.

Treat your knives right, and they’ll serve you well for years to come.

Look! I’m up to watch a sunrise! 🌅
For those who know me, you know I’m not a morning person… or even a waking-up person 😴😂

This trip has been such a gift—so many laughs, great food, ocean breezes, and sweet family memories made. 💕

As much as I’ve loved it all, I’m ready to be home, cuddle my pup, and sleep in my own bed again. 🐾🛏️

Last day at Myrtle 🌊

Today was all about relaxing. We did a little laundry, soaked up some final pool time, and started packing up (😢).

Dinner at Tavern in the Forest was an absolute win—5 stars all around! The pizza was killer, the Buffalo Chicken Alfredo was divine, and the Fish & Chips were perfectly crispy.

We’re ending the night with Left Right Center, Ticket to Ride, and maybe one more movie.

I can’t believe I go back to work Thursday! 😩

Myrtle Beach – Day 5
Started the day with shopping at Broadway at the Beach (including my favorite—a Christmas store! 🎄).
Lunch at Joe’s Crab Shack did not disappoint—shrimp Alfredo, blackened shrimp, and a fun kids menu with a take-home crab plate and free ice cream! 🦀🍤🍦

Spent the afternoon soaking up the sun with some beach and pool time 🌊☀️.
Wrapped up the night with Chinese food and movies 🎥🥡.

Can’t believe we only have one more day! 💙

Myrtle Beach – Day 4
Today was all about fun and favorites! We started with some much-needed sleeping in 😴, then headed to the aquarium where I got to see my favorite—the penguins! 🐧💙
Dinner was delicious pizza at Crave, followed by a game night with Left Right Center, Planted, and the always hilarious Piggy Piggy 🐷🎲
We wrapped up the night with a movie and were treated to a magical ocean rainbow 🌈🌊—the perfect ending to a perfect day!

Myrtle Beach – Day 3 🌊⛳🍦

Today was packed full of fun and flavor! We started off strong with the most amazing breakfast at Croissants—Bananas Foster French toast and a bacon & Gruyère quiche that were both chef’s kiss. 👩‍🍳✨

Then it was off to the boardwalk for Crazy Golf, where we racked up six hole-in-ones! 🏌️‍♀️🎯 We explored the wild and wacky world of Ripley’s Illusion Lab and Believe It or Not, which never disappoints.

We wrapped the day with some delicious ice cream and headed back to the condo for some much-needed relaxation and pool time. 💦☀️

Myrtle Beach – Day 2 🌊🌧️🛏🍔🎲🎬
A mix of sunshine and rain today! We started with the ocean, then enjoyed rainy day naps, grabbed burgers at Burger Boys, and played a cozy round of Planted. Wrapped up the evening with Left Right Center and a movie.
Rainy days at the beach still hit different. 🌧️💛

Day 1 – Myrtle Beach 🏖️
Seven hours in the car and totally worth it! We kicked off vacation with dinner at Liberty Tap Room, then hit the ocean for sandcastles, swimming, and a lazy river float. 🌊🏰💦
Wrapped up the night with ice cream and movies—couldn’t ask for a better first day! 🍦🎬✨
