Well, I am happy to say that the air conditioner unit has been replaced and our gateway modem has been replaced so I am back online now. The guy is still outside doing a few things, but he got it running so I could get online while he worked.
We never really realize how much we depend on the internet till we don't have it.
Now for a lot of catching up to do...
