Album: Lonerism
Artist: Tame Impala

Originally I was just going to do the song Elephant off this album because it's right up my alley in some dark, funky, old school Beatles vibe, but that would not do this gem of an album justice. Their music compares to a throwback out of the 60's or 70's. I would consider this guy a "Revivalist." This guy is taking us back. He takes an interesting spin on fusing psychedelic rock with progressive rock using modern technology. He cuts an album by his lonesome and picks up rando's when its time to play it live. I'm just going to keep soaking up the sun in the studio and get lost.

Slice Vinyl had one to many and awards this album 6.5 Slices.

Artist: Billy Joel
Album: The Stranger

I was fortunate enough to have this banger brought to me by a friend from work. The entire album Slap-lap-lap-lap-laps. (Moving Out reference)

The only stranger I knew about previously was when you are about to play little 5 on 1 and you sit on your hand until its numb so it feels like a stranger is in the mix. In reality, Joel is talking about the stranger in all of us. He lays down a funky beat and talks about how we don't really know exactly who we are, much less someone else's stranger. Lately, I have been getting to know my stranger. We are getting close. Everyone goes South every now and then. The stranger isn't always evil and he is not always wrong. The stranger the better, lets get weird.

Don't go changing to try and please me. I'll take you just the way are. People do need to have some things in common though. I had heard once that opposites attract so I took it to way to much of an extreme. Billy gets me. He just wants someone to talk to.

Where's the fire? What's the rush about? Vienna waits for you. As a young up and comer who just came to terms with morality, those are words of wisdom.

Only the good die young. Shout out to the those who have lost loved ones way to early. Billy knows his s**t. He knows I'd rather laugh with sinners than cry with the saints. This album may the key to halting an existential crisis. If things don't go well the first time around, pull yourself together and try again.

Artist: Ludacris
Album: The Red Light District
Song: Number One Spot

I was fortunate enough to grow up in the golden age of comedy: Myers, Farley, Sandler, Spade, Ferrell, and Carey all in their prime.

Number One Spot dubs the intro to Austin Powers and went hard on clever word play that does the movie justice. The point of song is that competition spawns excellence. I respect the s**t out of any master of their perspective craft. Even Tom Brady.......

When I need a little motivation I throw in this banger and gangster up. I love that disc itself is red referencing the title of the album. I love the chip on his shoulder in Luda's earlier days. You either join the movement or (MOVE BITCH) get out the way.

Coming from a man who lost his Mojo and got it back... the entire album f***s.

Slice Vinyl awards this song 6.9 Slices.

Artist: Tool
Album: Lateralus

I was listening to Side B and I was in the middle of responding to a FaceBook comment and it dawned on me why Guitar Hero chose the 3 songs that they did to pay tribute to the artist... it is 20 minutes of excellence. The following thoughts distracted from all the worlds problems:

Thounght = Thought without the h finished. I starred at that word and pondered why I had written it for at least half of Schism.

It is wild how unexpectedly music can rip you back into a memory "Butterfly Effect" style. (I found out I have a photographic memory but can't remember the picture)

The quickness in which my hands, feet, ears, and nose all decide to be cold at different times is mind boggling.

My feelings are so feel, I out hipster millennial hipsters because I was feeling the music so hard.

Album: Gig
Artist: Circle Jerks

I was fortunate enough to go with a family friend to pick out his first record. He thinks it's a funny band name as well as a awesome album art. We got home opened a bottle of Jack and spun it. All I got from it was a large "F**k You!"

It was borderline liberating. After some research on the band they are well respected in the punk community. They are 1990's hardcore. They don't like the cookie cutter society that we have grown accustomed to. I love the memory we had together. As I relisten to the album all I can do is smile. They have some raunchy content but... F**k It!
