what i like to do most when we first meet is listen. chances are, you already have an idea of what you want for your big day. my job is to connect you with vendors that will make it happen seamlessly while keeping it an enjoyable and fulfilling experience from day one to the day after the event. the strength you will gain with me as your planner or coordinator comes from the pride I take with my problem solving skills and my meticulous attention to detail which i have learned from observation, organization, and years in the industry. murphy’s law is real, but my goal is sticking to the plan while having a plan b, c, and d in the bag. let’s chat over coffee some time.

Where you plan to get ready isn't usually at the top of your list.

However, it shouldn't be at the bottom either!

Here are a few things to consider when deciding:

- Size - You are going to have a lot of people around you on this day. Your wedding party, hair and makeup stylists, moms, and even vendors stopping by to help. Throw in photographers and videographers, and things can get crowded fast.
- Light - You want to make sure it has good lighting! Natural light is always best, but if that's not possible, you still need lots of good lighting. Remember: there are so many photos to take!
- Location - Make sure the location is a reasonable distance from the venue. You may want to get ready in your childhood home, but it might not be ideal if it's over an hour from the venue.
- Appearance - You need somewhere functional, but you are also going to want somewhere nice. Again, sooooo many pictures.

Whether it is a bridal room at the venue, a childhood home, or even renting an AirBNB, it is important to find that perfect spot!

- Checking in with every vendor all day long, making sure they are on time and held accountable.

- Putting out your personal inventory

- Protecting your timeline, whether that be herding the wedding party where they need to be or putting out vendor fires.

- Making dinner plates for the bride and groom and checking in on parents to make sure they eat

- Loading up leftover cake, gifts, personal items, and to go food for the couple and parents at the end of the evening.

First off, I’m human, so I know honest mistakes are to be expected in life, but I am constantly in my head about how I can improve my small business and "sharpen the pencil."

I hold my team to high standards, but only after establishing those standards for myself. If you aren’t chasing perfection, you are running in the wrong direction. But IMO, a lot of these notes are basic, common sense paired with pretty standard human decency.

Vendors are humans too, talents and flaws and all, but after all these years in the industry, I have learned we are not all created equally. Do your research when booking, and when in doubt, hire a planner for vetted referrals.
