What’s Inside Wednesday? The Great Reveal! Broken Arrow Variscite Clam, clam fossils are rare geological specimens. Ancient clamshells buried in mud were replaced by variscite, a green phosphate mineral, through pseudomorphism. This process creates unique nodules with vibrant green or blue webbing prized by gem collectors.
Origins and Locations, found mainly in Nevada (such as the Broken Arrow, Poseidon, Pe**te, and Calypso mines).Formed when organic material in shells was deprived of oxygen and slowly substituted by mineral-rich solutions over millennia.
Collector and Lapidary ValueSpecimen status: Whole, uncut “clam” nodules are rare and valued as unique display pieces.
Cabochons: Slicing them open can reveal striking webbed patterns and bright color contrasts, which lapidary artists cut into custom jewelry stones.- info from Google.

BlackJack Turquoise will be harder to find.
Handmade, mined by us, cut by us, forged by us. The stone has some natural pitting. This is a natural style cabochon without the high gloss, it’s more of a matte finish, instead of a very polished stone. Some people like to see the stone is real all the way through. It’s a preference.
