Early morning crew, are you up?! Our gift to you prior to today's daily conditions is this heat index map for your Wednesday, June 10th, 2026.

The heat index (feels like) temperatures will be soaring into the 90s at the very least for nearly the entire Lower Peninsula. Lakeshore regions will feel some cooler conditions in the 80s. Our best chance at touching 100°F for a heat index reading today remains along and south of I-96. We've shifted the 100s zone a tad south, but we would not be surprised if a couple of our urban heat islands still surpass 100°F. Into the Upper Peninsula, Lake Michigan keeps things in the 70s along US-2, otherwise 60s for Copper Harbor, and 80s or greater for everyone else. A couple instances of 90°F are also expected across Ontonagon county and southern Houghton county.

Remember, the heat index is the temperature our body reacts to as relative humidity is involved. A moist atmosphere prevents your sweat from evaporating, which then leads to the rapid onset of heat sickness or illness. Limit time in the sunshine today if you are able, and take breaks to replenish yourself with water and electrolytes. Daily conditions posting next, stay tuned.
