PICTURE FRAMER / ENGRAVER NEEDED
We are a small, husband and wife owned, home-based framing and laser engraving company looking for a creative, motivated and organized framer. The bulk of our business is creating one of a kind retirement shadow boxes for Law Enforcement, Military and Fire Personnel. In addition we occasionally laser engrave gifts, plaques and keepsakes. We recently purchased a 3-D CNC machine for creation of large scale wall plaques and other keepsakes.
THE RIGHT PERSON
1. Must be experienced with framing and electronic mat cutting
2. Must be extremely self-motivated
3. Must be trustworthy
4. Must be organized
5. Must be artistic / creative
6. Must have a keen eye for details
7. Experience with laser engraving, Corel-draw, and 3-D printing a big plus
The Work:
1. Mainly you will be completing our outstanding orders and will receive a percentage of the net sales price for each item you complete. This can range between $10 and upwards of $75 / hour depending on your skills and knowledge (1099 based). Sample of orders: Designing and putting together custom shadow boxes, engraving knives or bulk orders, designing and creating plaques, painting signs/plaques
2. Help us with re-organizing and cleaning up the shop (Hourly / TBD)
3. If you have the skill and desire, posting to and updating our social media and other marketing platforms is a possibility
Responsibilities
• 80 %: Create custom shadow boxes. This will include laying out provided items, designing and putting together the frames and glass, using an electronic mat cutter, mounting items, and installing hardware and lights into each box.
• 5 %: Track and record orders and work load
• 5 %: Organize shop. We have a large space with many machines, parts/pieces, and inventory in need of re-organization in order to function at top level.
• 5 %: Complete Laser Engraving Orders. We laser engrave a variety of objects. Some will be custom jobs but most are knives and plaques for Law Enforcement, Military and Fire personnel.
• 5 %: Assist owners with other tasks as necessary
Hours:
FLEXIBLE. You will be able to work your own schedule once you are up to speed. We can work with you in the beginning, but expect Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays to be your main work days to start.
