Growing up in rural Oklahoma, I was fortunate enough to have a network of family and friends that helped shape my love for all things handmade. My aunt would paint and knit, my mother let me play with her crafting supplies, and my home-ec teacher taught me to strive for perfection. My grandma and neighbors taught me how to quilt by hand, crochet blankets, and work hard. They always taught me to do

my very best. Through learning from my grandma, neighbors, and especially my home-ec teacher, I was able to focus on the details to get every item just right. What may have once annoyed me, now helps me in my business. When you shop with Tea Hill Cottage, you are getting the trained work of over 30 years experience. I love to find a creative way to bring pleasure to someone's day. The question is what is your favorite ice cream… Braums makes the best! I like vanilla bean and my husband brought me toffee frozen yogurt that was wonderful! Maybe I should have ice cream for supper with these temperatures 😉

I’m doing messy sewing today. In my finish what I’ve started plan, I’m sewing 2 burp cloths and 2 bibs today. These were already cut out and pinned so!!! Get it done! It’s messy sewing because the soft minky backing sheds a lot when it’s cut. When it’s all sewn up it behaves nicely 😉. One set will be a gift, one set will go to my Etsy shop. Minky backing is so so soft.

As a maker it is easy for me to start a million projects and not finish them all. I have lots of things in various stages of completion. Things are changing in my head😂 and I want to get more streamlined and have less wips and more peace less “open windows”

So I’m going to tackle this basket of lanyards / key fobs in progress. I have to sew breakaway hardware to a lanyard and ship today. Here’s to finishing strong!
