The most random list of happy things lately:
1. Peony tulips 💐😍 They are stunning!
2. Helping kids count their piggy bank money so they can shop at the book fair. 📚
One little boy said, “Isn’t it just so fun to get to use money?”
“It IS! It kind of makes you feel grown up, huh?”
“Yep!” he says as he hands over money to pay for his book.”
“I’m going to give you some change…”
“Well…” he beams. “Thanks for doing business with me!”
Y’all. I melted. Cutest thing ever.
3. My news Nikes. They’re called “Strawberry Shake” and have “crinkle cut fry” shoelaces. I love all the details! My husband picked them out and they just add a little extra pep to my step 😉👟
4. The most perfect rainbow! 🌈 After such a dry winter in Utah, we have had a few rainy days in a row. Yesterday’s rainy day brought out this vibrant burst of colors and it just felt like magic. Phone photos will never do it justice, but I snapped pictures anyway so I could maybe capture the feeling.
5. Getting to talk to my missionary every Monday! Elder Stokes has been gone 3 1/2 months and I really look forward to our calls each week. I love hearing how he’s serving in his community, the random side quests he’s going on with his companions, and the ways he’s personally growing. He is meeting so many people and having beautiful conversations about Jesus and faith. Even though I wish I could have made his birthday cake a couple of weeks ago, the ordered bakery cupcakes were worth the trade-off for the experiences he’s having. I’m so lucky to get to be this boy’s mom.
