Continual Carpet Care is the Key!
This is the carpet in my main walking area of the house, and it is 18 years old. Entry, into living room and into kitchen dining area. We have 3 dogs, two active teens, teen friends running through our house, and we host 4 or 5 parties a year.
It doesn't take a lot to make your carpets last and look good. Here's the secret.
1. We clean our carpets every 6 months, with our proprietary
carpet cleaning solution that contains Peroxide and
Protective Film Technology. This won't allow the dirt to
pe*****te and stick to the carpet as easily.
2. We vacuum our carpet at least once a week (usually
twice). See the picture of the vacuum. This was just from
the living room. Like I said, we have 3 dogs and two active
teens. Lol
3. We do a quick mopping every week, with a damp micro-
fiber mop, and we use a neutral ph floor cleaning solution.
4. We have also placed a "soft backed" rug going from tiled
entry into the living room. This absorbs most of the dirt
coming from bare feet and tracked in dirt on the tile.
Total carpet care per week (excluding the carpet cleaning) is
only 1 hour per week.
