Sometimes making something new is all about learning. Made my first belt this week. The mohair part is great, but I obviously have a lot to learn about leather working and rivet setting! If you wear a size 52 belt reach out and let’s talk. Sometimes you have to just laugh at yourself. 😂

Sometimes, there are sightings of Red Yucca tack in the wild! Here is the Charro cinch on a custom handmade Charro saddle in Texas. I am so pleased to have been able to collaborate and I cannot wait to work on more.

This cinch is pretty special. I was contacted by a gentleman who makes high quality Charro saddles here in Texas. He wanted to see if I could make a cinch that mimicked Mexican Charro cinches. It had to fit specific parameters could only be certain colors. It also had to use round buckles which he was going to provide me. These buckles are from the early 1900s! It was really fun to work on this cinch because he didn’t know that I am Mexican and really enjoy the Charro culture. Thank you for the opportunity to work on something that not only I enjoy doing, but speaks to my heritage.

Here’s a little video of how I string. In this case it’s a special birthday gift for a loved one. When I see this video I’m reminded of my mom. The older I get, the more I have her hands. That is probably the only part of me that is her. Everything else I inherited from my dad.
