RG Arts and Crafts

RG Arts and Crafts Mission Statement: To enjoy life to the fullest. In other words, it is a way for me to share without bogging my friends and family down with tons of pictures.

I enjoy crafting whether it is with yarn and needles or hooks, with hot glue and trinkets, and even the occasional cross stitch. Rosalind’s Arts and Crafts page was created to provide an area where I can show some of the things I make and share my excitement about the project(s). I will also sell some items online at http://mkt.com/rosalind-griep. The online market is a way to allow me to spend more time with my family instead of at the local farmer’s market. I enjoy selling at the local Farmer’s Market in Marina, CA and will continue to do so once a month. Not everything I post will be for sale. Items that are available will be noted and available at the Farmer’s Market and/or the online market. I will take custom orders on a limited basis per month based on the size of the project. The months of April, July, and December will have more limitations on the size of projects. Not all patterns are my design and credit must be given where it is due. For patterns that are not my own design, I have either downloaded the pattern for free or purchased the pattern from other talented designers. In some cases the finished product may be sold and in others it may be for personal use only. There will be a disclaimer notating the designer and a location to find the pattern. Ultimately, my goal is to enjoy life to the fullest. Crafting brings me joy and I do not mind sharing it with others. First and foremost, I am family oriented and that is my first job. So you may not find oodles and oodles of goods for sale or see a lot of slots open for custom orders. This is by design to ensure that my hobby that I am very passionate about does not interfere with my family time nor does it turn into something I dread because it has become about the money instead of the art.

It has been a while!! Working hard on 100 hats for the Homeless. I am enjoying the ability to share crochet with kiddos and adults wanting to learn. As part of a meal group we are making 100 hats for the homeless. That has been very exciting the past month. We are making a steady climb to our goal. I busted my Tunisian crochet hook out of retirement and am trying a new to me stitch. It is called a smock stitch. My goal is to turn it into a hat with a ribbed bottom once I reach my desired height. Trying to add to the count with something new. I will post a link later in the comments for the video that I learned from. You need to know the basics of Tunisian crochet as far as the foundation row but then the video picks up nicely and does a great job explaining.

So excited to get to teach and share the love of crochet while giving back. The goal is one hundred but I know so much more will be gained. Thankful for those willing to crochet/knit/loom; those willing to donate yarn; and those willing to pray. ☺️

Need a quick home decor project? It took me less than 17 minutes to finger crochet yarn from a failed project onto a 14 inch wire frame. Only thing left is to decorate if desired with flowers, ribbon, or what not. Plain looks good as well.

Guess where I am at?!?

I visited the new Smashing Art Glass Studio location in Lillington and joined a glass class making crosses. You know I love the ocean and tried to capture that vibe. The instruction was clear which made it fun. Great class!!!!

It is finished. Woohoo. What is it you may or may not be asking? Well, I don’t know. Throw it on for a little warmth or just to jazz up some beach wear. Not really sure. Another product of love and a great way to reduce stress. No pattern. Sorry. The neckline was built up from the original. Great way to repurpose yarn from a WiP (Work in Process) project. 😊😊😊

A little progress made. Now to dry before completing 😍 not much but a little note of love.
