I have just received the above chess set, which is a 50th birthday present for my son.

I only ordered it on Saturday afternoon and now, Tuesday evening, it has been delivered, unpacked and admired. I can’t believe just how beautiful it is and arriving in a lovely case as well is an added bonus.

Thank you Chess Baron so much. I don’t normally leave reviews, but felt I had to. I’m sure, no I know, that my son will be absolutely ‘blown away’ by this chess set.

Email to us: I may not know much about chess (yet!) but I do know quality, style and value! Thank you for the great set. I was a bit anxious ordering as I wanted to see it in the flesh but it looked exactly (if not better) than in the photo – which is a real bonus as most companies do not give you the close up shots. It was for a special gift and made a grown man practically jump up and down on the spot! The care someone took wrapping the set for dispatch showed that you care about the products you send out. Thank you once again.

The marble has a nice weight to it, you can actually feel the craftsmanship when you pick up a piece. The colours are great too, not flat or uniform like cheaper sets. It came in a proper velvet case, which was a nice surprise. My husband and I have already had a few matches on it, and it’s become our weekend ritual. Definitely something we’ll keep for years.”
