The San Pedro Art Association family lost our dear friend and artist Bonnie K. Muir on October 3rd 2026.
We have a void down at the SPAA gallery since losing Bonnie, and we miss her everyday. Bonnie could always be found at the back of the gallery hanging out with fellow SPAA artists most weekends. She loved spending time with everyone, and loved talking to customers about her beautiful one of a kind work. Such a sweet lady that was always smiling, and began her membership with SPAA after vending at a few of our early seasonal craft fairs. After joining SPAA, Bonnie quickly became on of our regulars at the gallery. She was like family to many of us in SPAA.
We will miss you Bonnie for a long time to come. Thank you for being a part of the SPAA family. We love you Bonnie! Rest in eternal peace dear friend.
Bonnie was born in Gardena, California in February 1952. She learned knitting and crochet from her grandmother at a very young age. She also played saxophone in the Gardena High School marching band, graduating in 1970. She went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Long Beach State University. After which she moved up to Northern California, where she worked in records management. She was very active in crafting communities in the Northern California area. She even published a Craft Show Directory for a quite a long time.
Bonnie was third in her family of four children: Allan, Linda, Bonnie, and John. Her mother, Betty Muir, was an artist and crafter, and encouraged all of the children in all sorts of crafts and activities. Her surviving family misses her dearly.
We're honored to be able to continue to display and sell Bonnie's creations. All proceeds from the sales of Bonnie's work will go towards helping to fund the annual SPAA Harbor Wide All Grades Student Art Competition, as Bonnie's family has donated her artwork to The San Pedro Art Association. Bonnie's work is currently on display at our gallery inside Crafted @ The Port Of Los Angeles. Bonnie's work may be viewed and purchased any Friday thru Sunday during operating hours 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
