Amy's Culinary Adventures

Amy's Culinary Adventures I like to think about it, shop for it, travel to it, prepare it, read about it, enjoy it...all of wh I’ve been catering full time for the last 10 years.

In the past 12 years I’ve taken over 30 cooking classes at The New School of Cooking, to brush up and fill in my cooking skills. I traveled to France and Switzerland and took cooking classes through the CIA -Hyde Park. Then 11 years ago, I decided to formalize my training and attended the Professional Program at the Westlake Culinary Institute. I was asked to continue on after graduation as a teac

hers assistant and have been doing that ever since. I also work in product development , helping to create new food products . This is just proof that you really can change your life, and pursue your passion. I am finally fulfilling my dream of cooking for a living and enjoying every minute of it. I wish my parents could see me now, I know they’d be so proud. So, I hope that we get the chance to share a culinary adventure together soon. Feel free to call me and I will work with you to create a gorgeous menu and event you’ll never forget.

We created a surprise 85th birthday party for adventure, hiker, and traveler Joel! His wife wanted appetizers from some of the more unique places Joel had traveled like Chicken Momos with tamarind sauce from the Himalayas, crispy Pani Puris filled with black chickpeas, sautéed mushrooms, spinach, and potato masala from India with Mint water, Crispy curry marinated katafi wrapped shrimp with mint honey chutney, Thai beef satay and a deliciously decadent dinner Buffet for 75 of Joel’s closest friends!

The Daily Amy - warning... these new Pumpkin Spiced Pumpkin Seeds are addicting! Nicely spiced, but not too much, Kinda sweet and perfectly crispy. Great to snack on but would be delicious in a fall salad with apples and goat cheese and a maple apple cider vinaigrette! Or as a topping for apple pie with ice cream!

Gluten free kosher light tasting for a clients bought Mitzvah. She and her mom have severe celiac disease. We don’t just make special food for the gluten-free Client. I believe everything should be gluten-free at their event so they know that everything will be safe for them to eat, and they don’t have to worry. Appetizers were Chinese chicken, lettuce cup wraps with water, chestnuts and hoisin sauce and crispy rice noodles, Aji, tuna tartare with avocado and wasabi caviar on crispy rice paper, Nori crisps, and crispy chicken and waffles with cayenne maple glaze. First course was Chinese chicken salad with almonds and rice noodle crisps. Entrées were pan, seared salmon with Cajun honey sauce, jerk, chicken with tropical fruit, salsa, multi flavored cotton candy, and several desserts that aren’t pictured
