The dog days of summer are here, which means heading inside for a little respite as routines get closer to returning.

How is the art in your home feeling when you're inside cooling off?

"Full Bloom Tulip 1" can be a way to make a familiar room feel special again, especially as summer starts to shift toward a steadier season.

Placement changes everything.

“Eucalyptus 2” doesn’t have to live in a formal space.

Sometimes the most meaningful placement is where you naturally look every day.

Browse the gallery and imagine where it would live in your space.

Full Bloom Tulips 3

I bring home flowers for my partner every week. We love fresh flowers in our home. During the last week of March in 2025 I purchased a bouquet of Parrot Tulips. I usualy put the fresh cut flowers on the kitchen island so everyone at home can enjoy them. They opened up right away and were so wild to observe. Each day expanding their vibrant petals more. I kept thinking I should photgraph them everytime I would walk by. On the sixth day of them showing off all their glory, I saw a single pedal drop to the island coutertop while eating a tuna salad sandwhich. I said to myself, "If I don't capture this right now, I'll always regret it". I immediately stopped eating my sandwich and poped my lunch plate into the fridge for later. I gently lifted the vase of tullips and slowly walked to the garage studio. I set up some white paper off a roll I already had open and gingerly set the vase in the middle of the white seamless backdrop. I began to capture these amazing flowers that spoke to me all week long. After about 40 minutes I was done photgraphing them. At the very moment I set the camera down, the petals all began to fall off. It was as if they were holding on a little longer....waiting for me to capture their essence and see me smile all so satisfied knowing I got the shots I needed before taking their last breath. 35mm | f1.4 | 1/800 | iso 400

Agree/Disagree? Not everything needs to be optimized.

That’s usually where the best decisions come from anyway, not overthinking, just recognizing what feels right.

Some things can just exist because you like them.

Because they make a moment feel a little better, or a day feel a little lighter.

Choose "Hendrix Sky" because you connect to it, and that's enough.

Travel changes how you see things.

You notice details, textures, moments you would usually overlook. Bringing something like “Full Bloom Tulip 1” into your home can recreate that sense of attention.

What’s something you’ve noticed more deeply while traveling that you wish you could bring home with you?
