“Hi! I’m Margarita. I’ve been living in Portugal for the past 7 years and started riding in April ‘23. My first bike was a 125cc Suzuki Marauder I found in a small village outside Lisbon. After one too many push-starts and being left stranded (definitely partly my fault), she was swapped for a 650cc Honda Dominator in April ‘24. The Domi had a little too much cHaRaCtEr for my liking, so she eventually moved on too. That’s how I ended up with my current ride: a Moto Guzzi V7.

The Guzzi is my girl. Pretty, stubborn, reliable and fun. Riding has become meditative - no thoughts. It’s community. It’s waving hi to strangers, getting and giving nods of approval, kids gesturing to rev (or wheelie, lol), and accidentally riding alongside others. What was supposed to be a day-off hobby became my routine - but it’s never started to feel ordinary.” - маргарита

“I grew up riding dirt bikes with my dad, who was in motocross, so riding has always been a big part of my life. He passed away in 2020, and when I started riding Harleys in 2023, it quickly became something that made me feel close to him again.

I think about him every time I’m on the bike. There’s just something about being on two wheels that’s hard to explain unless you ride. you just get it.

I had a pretty bad wreck in December 2025, and I’m beyond grateful to still be here and able to ride again. It definitely gave me a whole new appreciation for every ride, every mile, and the freedom that comes with it.” - MaKayla, Big Red

“I’m a German woman in my mid-50s living in Alaska, and I’m in my third season back on a motorcycle after 20 years away.

For two decades, I put family first — raising my children and caring for my aging parents. Now my parents are gone, my marriage is ending, and my teenage son is facing cancer. There is a lot of grief in my life.

But then there is my DR650.

I ride and moto-camp throughout Alaska, and when I’m on the bike, everything gets quiet. I focus on the road, the landscape, the next turn. Riding gives me clarity. It reminds me that grief can be part of my story without becoming the whole story.

My old-school DR650 feels like a time machine. When I ride, I suddenly feel young again.

I call my channel “Slow Down for Adventure” because that’s what I’m learning to do: slow down, be present, and actually live the life that is happening right now.

I have big plans — including a round-the-world motorcycle trip someday. But for now, I’m riding Alaska, one road and one campout at a time.

“Hey! I’m Chardine a South London based musician, writer, cultural producer and community organiser. I’ve been riding for 2 years now after being inspired to finally try after my old band played Camp VC, a UK-based women’s adventure sport festival. I started on a Bluroc Legend 125cc, and I now ride a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650cc which is my first big bike!

Since then, motorcycling has become a huge part of my life! I have volunteered at festivals such as Malle Mile and accomplished life long dreams like riding down PCH with the Long Beach Litas to Babes Ride Out as well as various places in the UK. I’m soon to have my first European motorcycle trip to France.

Off the bike, I’m making music in my band Border Widow, writing, playing records and bringing Black feminist and decolonial thinking into the cultural spaces I work in. Riding, for me, is just another form of freedom. Something which I deeply value as women in the past weren’t able to have the opportunities I have, so every day I am my ancestors’ wildest dreams.” - Chardine Taylor-Stone

“Hi, I’m Bec Daniels from NYC, I got my motorcycle license in 2020 and have been riding for the past four years after buying my first bike in 2022. I started my riding journey on a 1982 Yamaha XJ650 Maxim around Oregon and the Bay Area and have been riding a modified 2021 Harley Iron 883 for about two years in New York. I ride with the Litas chapter here and love meeting people in the community and going on trips.

I ride because it makes me stay fully in tune with the present moment and feel free at the same time, and I love riding with friends and exploring new places on a bike. There’s nothing like the thrill of a good night ride or the power and calm you feel ripping down the highway.
