Classic beekeeping mistake... Sometimes I will steel frames from rocking colonies to help boost the others... It works great and all but if you forget to replace the frames, the bees will just keep on keeping on and fill that void with combs. Luckily I only do something so silly about once a year at this point, but let me tell you... it DOES happen.
