Looking for things to do in Minocqua, Wisconsin? Put Northern Waters Distillery on your list, and make sure you GO OUT BACK.
We’ve visited Northern Waters Distillery plenty of times. They make their spirits right here in Minocqua, and I’m already a fan of their cucumber vodka and coffee vodka.
What we somehow missed for YEARS was the backyard.
There’s outdoor seating tucked behind the distillery, plenty of room to enjoy a cocktail and a gorgeous Wisconsin Northwoods view.
Save this for your next Minocqua trip, and apparently learn from us: don’t stop at the front door.

Proof that sometimes you have to sacrifice looking cute for hydrated skin. 😂

Friday fish fry in Wisconsin’s Northwoods? Obviously.
We stopped at Bootleggers Supper Club in Tomahawk for dinner and, while our 7 p.m. reservation may have been a little too late to get the fish fry we came for, we certainly didn’t leave hungry.
Good food, classic Northwoods supper club atmosphere and another stop checked off our Wisconsin adventures.

Looking for an easy Wisconsin day trip? We spent the day exploring the Milwaukee area…from bargain hunting at 7 Mile Fair and digging through vinyl to tamales at El Rey and an iconic Bloody Mary) at Sobelman’s.
List of where we went:

One of my favorite things about visiting 7 Mile Fair is that every trip is different.

This time I went hoping to get a hat airbrushed and have another embroidered with a Gorillaz logo. While the airbrush artist wasn’t there that day, the embroidery came out fantastic (and for a great price!).
Then came the dangerous part... wandering the aisles. 😄 I ended up finding a Gucci-inspired two-piece set that definitely wasn’t on my shopping list.

Whether you’re looking for something specific or just browsing, there’s always something interesting to discover at 7 Mile Fair.

Swad isn’t just one of my favorite Indian restaurants... it’s one of my favorite restaurants, period.
Every visit reminds me why. Incredible food, generous portions, attentive staff, and enough leftovers for another meal (or two!).
If you’re in the Madison area, this one belongs on your list.

Every trip we take has one stop that’s basically non-negotiable: a record store. And…usually it’s several.
During our Fourth of July weekend in Minneapolis, we visited:
Down In The Valley (both Maple Grove & Golden Valley)
Mill City Sound
South Metro Music
Every shop had its own personality, incredible selections, and plenty of hidden gems.
Which one should we visit next time we are in Minneapolis?
