🩷 Remembering a Trailblazer ~ Dolly Parton

Today, as a Girl Mom, I’m reflecting on the passing of an extraordinary woman; country music icon, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and trailblazer Dolly Parton, who passed away today at age 80.

I’ll always cherish the memories of visiting Nashville, Tennessee, with my daughter and her girlfriends taking pictures at Dolly’s hotel. At the time, we were simply creating memories. Today, those pictures carry an even deeper meaning.

Dolly’s impact went far beyond music. She used her platform to support children, education, literacy, women, families, and communities through an extraordinary legacy of philanthropy. Her Imagination Library alone has provided hundreds of millions of books to children around the world.

As a mother raising daughters and as a woman who believes in the power of opportunity, I especially admire how Dolly built her own lane while encouraging others to do the same.

Her words remain a powerful reminder:

“I’m all about women, I’m all about empowering women, but I’m all about empowering all people — love and respect and uplifting them.” — Dolly Parton

Rest peacefully, Dolly. 💕
