Let me introduce you to my dream tablescape!
When people see a table like this, they will say, “I love all the flowers and candles.” And they’re right! But there’s more to why it works.
Here are the 3 design principles that create this lush, romantic look:
1. Layers
Instead of making one massive centerpiece, I alternate larger and smaller arrangements to create fullness without making the table feel heavy. The same goes for the candles. Different hurricane and taper candles heights, pillar candles, and tea lights all work together to create movement and draw your eye down the entire table.
2. Color
At first glance, this looks like a simple white-and-green palette… but there’s actually so much more going on. A few n**e roses warm up the white florals, two shades of taupe taper candles soften the look, and the beige linens tie everything together. Even the different greens and the butterfly ranunculus centers add just enough contrast to keep everything from feeling flat.
3. Texture
Texture is one of my favorite ways to make faux florals feel incredibly natural (because yes, everything flower here is artificial, if you didn’t notice!). Airy blooms, delicate greenery, fluffy flowers, glossy foliage, smooth glass hurricanes, ribbed tea light holders… every material catches the light a little differently. That’s what gives the whole table that romantic, garden-inspired feel.
The best designs aren’t just “more is better”. They’re about layering intentional details that work together.
I could stare at this table all day. 🤍
