Love seeing trivia about the history of the building where JLA is located!!

TRIVIA TUESDAY

When looking at Putnam Street today, it's hard to fathom it as a prime residential choice "outside of Fort Harmar and the Campus Martius stockade." That began to change in the 1880’s when "new merchants and businessmen began to realize the potential".

Built in 1908 the Dime Bank building, as we know it today, at 200 Putnam Street, originated as the German National Bank, but that wasn't the first structure on that corner. What was?

A] 1st hospital
B] 1st city building
C] 1st courthouse
D] Nothing existed @ 2nd & Putnam prior to the German National Bank
