Here's a look at our booths at the Fall Fairy Tale festival in Marion, IL, this past weekend. I ran a Spirit Board Seance booth, and my husband and mom manned the Wildwood Manor booth. We collected donations for Finding Forever Animal Rescue, and all proceeds of my spirit board booth benefit Al's Snack Shack, which feeds/shelters/vets neighborhood cats and any other hungry wild child.

FINALLY!!! The Jehovah Witnesses came to my door!!! Little miss primped and perfect Stepford wife was taken aback by my rutty appearance. I stopped to dust my glasses since I could not see through them. I said "sorry- been sanding".

Her eyes grew large as she appallingly asked "Sanding?! Sanding what?" (Surely, someone without a p***s couldn't wield such a thing as sandpaper.)

"Spirit boards- like Ouija boards. I sell 'em on Etsy."

She inserts nervous giggle to mask the stench of fear emanating from her internal freak detector. Remembering her script, she raises her pamphlet up and reads the cover to me asking if I believe the Kingdom of God is a figure of speech or a government in heaven.

"I tell ya what", I grin like a Cheshire cat, "how about you come in, give me your spiel, and then *I* will give you mine?".

She had people in the car, so, she couldn't come in and talk. THE JEHOVAH WITNESS COULDN'T COME IN AND TALK. . . . As I closed the door, I cackled as only a respectable witch would. Today was a good day.

I received my very first bad review the other day on Etsy:

(One star out of five- lowest possible rating.)
"Just a very large printout glued to a cheap, VERY thin board. The planchette is on the same type of skinny board with some felt attached. Another donation to the landfill. I would suggest buying a vintage Ouija board on ebay. Sorry Etsy."

After two attempts over a few days time to reach the buyer, the buyer finally responded and it was made clear that no resolution would be met.

"I contacted the buyer to try to resolve the issue. Contact me if you would like to read the entire correspondence. Limited characters here- trying to keep concise. Prospective shoppers, please read the description of an item and look at all images provided. If you are still unsure of the characteristics of your item, contact the seller with your questions. Secondly, I try to make clear that these boards come blessed and, per my included instructions, I encourage everyone to cleanse and dedicate their boards to their own energy. I send them out with an admitted bias that I have since learned does have a strong effect. I smudge with lavender and state a variation of "only benevolence here, only those who serve the highest good shall remain, all others will be deterred." Intention truly is everything. Blessed be!"
