Bake Those Cookies, you are worth it!
The other day I was craving a shortbread cookie. I didn't feel like running to the store to buy a package, so I decided to bake a small batch since I already had all the ingredients on hand.
While the cookies were baking, a neighbor stopped by and asked, "Who are you baking cookies for?"
I smiled and said, "Me."
She looked a little surprised and asked, "You even decorate them for yourself?"
Without hesitation, I replied, "Yes, I'm worth it!"
We both laughed, but after she left, I found myself thinking about that simple conversation.
Over the years, I've cooked, baked, and created special treats for family, friends and neighbors. I've enjoyed seeing their smiles and hearing how much they appreciated the effort. But why should that same care and thoughtfulness be reserved only for others?
The truth is, we deserve those little acts of kindness too.
So yes, I enjoyed my decorated shortbread cookie, and I appreciated the effort that went into making it. It was a small reminder that taking time to do something special for yourself isn't selfish—it's valuable.
Bake the cookies. Use the pretty plate. Decorate the treat. Celebrate the small moments. Because you're worth it, too.
"Sometimes the sweetest thing you can do is treat yourself with the same care you give everyone else. You are worth it."
