It's FLOWER FRIDAY!!! Last call for Peonies, last call for Dahlia tubers and last call for flowers till July!!!

Stop by the flower stand to grab a bouquet for that new graduate or your favorite dance recital star.

All wrapped bunches are $25 each
Dahlia tubers are $20 each.

Stand is self serve/honor system.

Last call for Peonies and last call for flowers until JULY!!!!

Yup, you read that right.

This farmer is taking a whole MONTH off from slinging bouquets for the month of June.

I started this business as a way to help our savings while I was a stay home mom with 3 young boys at home. They were 2, 6 and 8 when this flower thing all started.

But now that former 8 year old has a driver's permit
😬 and those young boys are growing up too fast. Summers home with them are becoming more important than flowers.

This "break" has been planned for long time (close to a year in advance) so I am not doing this just on a whim. 😉 This is not a crisis, a mental breakdown or me flying off the rails. ❤

There will still be garden chores to complete but by taking away the harvesting, processing and selling part for a little bit frees up my schedule significantly to enjoy summer fun activities like going to the pool, staying an extra day at the lake and not stressing about deadlines when I need to be at a baseball game.

Anyway....

I'll see ya at the Stand this Friday 5/29 @ 9am for the season finale for Peonies.

Who's tired of all my peony pictures?

Cool, me neither.

Peony season is short. They don't stick around all summer, so you have to enjoy them when they are here.

I left my phone in my flower cooler today🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

It took me forever to figure it too. SIGH.

At least the peonies have thier act together.

3 reasons my peonies still look like this and yours are in full bloom even though we live in the same zip code.....

1. Peony variety: different peony varieties bloom at different times. Some are early, some are late and some bloom sometime in the middle. I mostly grow late blooming varieties like this "Sarah Bernhardt".

2. Landscape vs field: where your peony is planted can dictate when it blooms. The peony in your landscape next to your house's foundation and driveway are going to retain heat warming the soil around your landscape plants. This extra warm will definitely speed up the blooming process for any perennial.

3. City vs Rural: same concept and #2. Temperatures in the city tend to be warmer than neighboring rural areas (especially overnight) thanks to all the roadways, houses and sidewalks retaining the sun's heat.

Since my peonies are already late varieties and planted in a field away from other structures, I get later blooming peonies than my city living friends.

4 Reasons why the is CLOSED the week after Mother's Day....

1. Because demand for flowers the week after Mother's Day is pretty low. Every one bought flowers last week so they don't need them this week. 🤷🏼‍♀️

2. I don't have many flowers available right now.. Tulips are gone and we are not so patiently 🙄 waiting for Peonies.

3. It's planting time!!!! It's time to get those heat loving flowers in the ground and as a one woman show, I can only do so much. So the flowerstand will get a break while I get down and dirty resetting the garden for all the sunflowers, dahlias and zinnias.

4. Dealing with the end of school year activities for my kids is its own full time job💁🏼‍♀️.

Last of the tulips, last of the ranunculus, last of the anemones.....

Basically today is the end of all the spring goodies.

The is open today Friday 5/8 until all the flowers are gone.

A few wrapped bunches are on the stand on a first come first served basis. Also Milk Jars and dahlia tubers are available.

Bottom shelf of the stand is for pre-orders that are labeled with last names.
