We freeze our goji berries at the peak of ripeness and freeze them to put in our morning smoothies. 🫐❄️

This is the largest harvest we’ve had so far. This mother goji bush has been amazing to me. She came to full maturity last year and provided a bounty that was instrumental in saving my life.

As I’ve detoxed from this insane parasitic load these berries help heal me from the inside out. These parasites are so attached, it feels like adhesions when they detach. 😩

I’m working on a whole row of goji plants in the Victory Garden. These little berries are good good medicine! 🤍

Goji berries are nutrient-dense superfruits rich in antioxidants (such as zeaxanthin and beta-carotene), vitamins A and C, and polysaccharides, offering a wide range of health-promoting properties supported by both traditional medicine and modern research.

Key Health Benefits:

Eye Health: High levels of zeaxanthin and lutein protect the retina from UV/blue light damage, potentially reducing the risk of age-related macular degeneration and cataracts.

Immune Support: Polysaccharides and high vitamin C content boost immune function by enhancing the activity of macrophages and lymphocytes.

Skin & Anti-Aging: Antioxidants and beta-carotene promote collagen production, improve skin hydration and elasticity, and protect against oxidative stress and premature aging.

Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health: Consumption may help lower LDL cholesterol, regulate blood sugar levels by improving insulin sensitivity, and support healthy blood pressure.

Mood & Energy: Adaptogenic properties help reduce stress and cortisol levels, while B vitamins and amino acids may improve energy, sleep quality, and mental well-being.

It looks like ‘Bubbles’ bloomed overnight while nobody was looking.

So, I fed her early and gave her a bigger jar to encourage her to grow again.

Maybe we can catch the wave this time!! I’m so excited to have this girl back in action!

This dog waited patiently all week while I busted my hump to get the last of the summer crops in the dirt. So I took her to her favorite beach to chase the ball around as a reward for her patience. We are truly blessed here in Humboldt to have such beautiful surroundings. What are you guys doing with your weekend? I’d love to hear in the comments. 🥰

I’m hoping to bring our 100 year old San Francisco sourdough starter back to life after over a year in the fridge.

Wish me luck! 🍀 🤞🏼

The worms have been loving the white pumpkin left over from last season’s harvest.

Our Uncle Jim’s Worm Bin is one of the best part of our organic farm & garden.

These little red wrigglers produce the most wonderful easy to use fertilizer I have ever tried.

They are locally sourced and we have been enjoying their high reward contribution for years.

I like to spoil them with morning sun and prime veggie leftovers from our farm and table.

These white pumpkins were such a huge hit I might just have to grow some just for the worms.

Worms are easy to care for and fun to interact with them.

Uncle Jim makes it easy and fun for beginners with this worm ladder design.

I highly recommend giving it a go in your own garden. When I started my worm farm we were living in a single wide with a very small garden.

They are versatile in most garden scenarios they just need to stay mount and feed and need a healthy worm bed.

Follow us for more tips on how and why to worm farm. 🪱🌱

works so hard at the homestead.

Best friend. Service dog. Yard security. Vole remediation specialist.

But every once in a while, even the hardest working members of the crew deserve a day off.

That’s one of the things I love most about living on the Lost Coast. When it’s time to recharge, incredible natural beauty is never far away.

And nobody enjoys a day at the beach quite like Moxie. 💚🐾🌊

A funny thing happened in our worm bin.

Last year’s pumpkin fed the family.

The scraps fed the worms.

The worms created rich castings and nutrient-dense worm tea.

And now? New pumpkin seedlings are sprouting from the very system that old pumpkin helped create.

Nothing wasted.

Everything transformed.

That’s the kind of magic we believe in at Rainbow’s End Humboldt.

The tomatoes growing in our nursery.
The microgreens on our table.
The herbs drying in our kitchen.
The soil beneath our feet.

It’s all connected.

Every harvest becomes the next beginning.

Every season teaches the next lesson.

And every week we’re working to bring a little more abundance to our corner of the Lost Coast.

If you’ve driven past our little farmstand, stopped by for tomato starts, or followed along with our homestead adventures, thank you for being part of the journey.

This summer you’ll find:

🍅 Healthy tomato starts
🌱 Fresh microgreens
🌿 Herbs and garden goodies
🧄 Small-batch handcrafted products from Mad Carrot Farms
✨ And a whole lot of homestead magic

Because around here, we’re not just growing food.

We’re growing community.
