My flower stand is open until 7 this evening with exclusively locally grown flowers!

This week I have bachelor buttons, godetia, lilies, tulips, and a few other types of flowers mixed in. There’s even a couple of early dahlias and one Calla Lily this week! ☺️

Flower bouquets are $25 each. I also have rhubarb for $5/bunch, and perennial anemones and forget me nots for $3/pot.

The stand is at the corner of Meadow Lakes Loop and Dreamy Drive.

I won’t have a flower stand today due to a couple upcoming weddings. 💍 💐
I will have my stand open again next week, and I should have rhubarb available then for $5/bunch!

Did you know that some flowers change color based on the temperature swings?

These pansies (originally purple and white) changed to completely white when they were inside with minimal temperature swings.

However, with the warm weather the last couple of weeks, the interior temperature of our house has been swinging a fair amount and warming up more during the day. Hence, the new blooms are turning purple again!

Many of my plants have doubled in size this past week. In a few weeks, I expect them to be in full bloom! 💐

My flower bouquets are out until around 7 this evening!
I also have some perennial anemones for $3/pot. It reseeds well, and flowers usually in the beginning of June.

Now’s the time to examine your currants and gooseberries for sawfly larvae. These tiny larvae will devour every single leaf within a month!
Diatomaceous earth spread around the base of the shrubs will help decrease the overall presence of the larvae.
Another option is an organic spray called Azamax. This can be found at Alaska Jack’s Hydroponics in the Meadow Lakes Strip Mall. If you use this, make sure to carefully follow the instructions and do a thorough job spraying to avoid letting the larvae develop resistance to it.

I’m excited to be a vendor at this new farmers market in Big Lake at Common Ground Alaska Farmstead!
The farmer’s market starts June 20th. My first day there will be in the beginning of July, once my flowers start producing more!

Have plans for June 20th (which happens to be the farmer and my 34th anniversary)? Mark your calendars for the opening of the Big Lake Farmer's Market on the Farm!

This brand new market is primarily a farm/food market but we will have some local small businesses as space allows.

Market will be on Saturdays from noon - 6 pm and we hope to have the farm overflowing with local food and farm options as well as supporting small businesses local to our community.

PLUS - we have activities galore planned! Every Saturday will be unique and fun!

My flower stand is open with some of the first flowers of the year!

It’s at the corner of Dreamy Dr and Meadow Lakes Loop, and bouquets are $25 each. I’m so excited that summer has arrived!!

I’ll have 3 bouquets for sale tomorrow (Thursday) for $25 each! I’ll post pictures tomorrow morning once I assemble them.
They’ll contain forget me nots, tulips, maybe ranunculus, and other spring flowers and greenery.
I’m not planning on setting up the stand this week, so please send me a message if you’d like to schedule a time tomorrow to pick one up!
