We try our hardest to keep the store clean, organized, and bright so that you as a shopper can see everything and feel good about the service and items you're getting. Yes, our hours have changed, and we’re trying to get the word out! 📣

We’re loving the opportunity to get so much accomplished on Mondays, and our team is definitely enjoying the first two-day weekends some have had in a very long time. ❤️

Have you noticed the new trend of some big-box stores not displaying prices on their shelves or their items?

You pick something up, fall in love with it, and then have to make an awkward decision at the register when you finally find out what it costs. In our opinion, that’s not the way shopping should work.

In today’s economy, families are shopping with intention. Every dollar matters, and we believe customers deserve clear, honest pricing before they ever reach the checkout line.

At Blues City, we love the thrill of discovering a great thrift-store treasure—but we don’t think you should have to hunt for the price, too.

We’re committed to transparency, fair pricing, and helping our community shop with confidence. ❤️

And honestly, when you can spend an afternoon treasure hunting, find something that brings you joy, and support local missions at the same time… that’s pretty therapeutic if you ask us.

We had so much fun welcoming everyone into the store yesterday and watching you discover the new location of our Children’s Department! 🎉

While many of the shelves and racks still have room to grow, we’re already looking forward to June 20th when we officially celebrate the Grand Reopening of the Children’s Department alongside our Sidewalk Book & Art Sale. By then, we hope to have every corner fully stocked and ready for you to explore!

One thing we love about Blues City is that we truly listen to your feedback. When we asked what departments you wanted to see expanded, the response was almost evenly split between Children’s and Books.

So we found a way to do both!

By moving children’s books into the Children’s Department, we’ve created more space for kids’ books where families naturally shop, while also opening up additional shelf space in our main Book Department. More room, more inventory, and more treasures to discover!

Thank you for sharing your ideas with us and helping shape the future of Blues City. We hope you enjoy all the changes as much as we’ve enjoyed creating them.

And parents—be sure to check out the family movies we have playing and our new free-play desk area in the Children’s Department! We hope it gives little ones something fun to enjoy while you shop. ❤️

We’ve noticed some comments lately about all the changes happening around Blues City, and we wanted to take a moment to share our heart behind them!!

Yes, there are a LOT of exciting changes happening throughout the store! New displays, refreshed departments, improved organization, expanded sections, and more improvements still to come.

But contrary to what a few people have suggested, change does not automatically mean price increases for us.

Earlier this year, we did make some pricing adjustments in certain areas of the store. Those changes were carefully considered and were made so that Blues City can continue supporting the ministries and missions that have always been at the heart of what we do. Every purchase made in our store helps us continue making an impact far beyond our four walls.

What we are working toward now is not higher prices—it’s a better shopping experience. We want a cleaner, easier-to-shop, more organized store that helps you find treasures at great thrift store prices while also allowing us to serve our community well.

We are incredibly grateful for the support, encouragement, donations, and trust you have shown us through the years. Thank you for growing with us, giving us feedback, and being part of the Blues City family.

🌟 Meet Our New Cashier, Siri! 🌟

We’re excited to introduce Siri, one of the newest members of the Blues City Thrift family!

Siri recently graduated from high school and will be attending the University of Memphis this fall as a Physics major.

If you hear a great voice coming from behind the counter, don’t be surprised! Siri has been involved in choir for 9 years and has sung in a ca****la groups for the past 5 years. Music is one of Siri’s passions, and Blues City is excited to have Siri on the team.

Siri also loves math and science, so if you’re looking for a fun fact while checking out, Siri probably has one ready to share! From fascinating science facts to interesting mathematical concepts, Siri enjoys learning and sharing knowledge with others.
