Thank you to everyone for a successful sale! I’m working promptly to get all the orders fulfilled!

Some unfortunate news is we will be increasing the $5 flat rate shipping price to $6 due to the rising shipping rates. Pit board rates will now also be $15 instead of $12. Even with the discounted prices I get, the 5 and 12 dollar rates aren’t keeping up. Rather unfortunate because the $5 flat rate has been the same for the last 4 years! This change will be effective immediately. I’ll be looking into changing from flat rate to exact rate to keep it more fair for everyone.

First aluminum job done on the mill (The battle wounds were from a pair of pliers)! Not an R/C part but an aluminum crank hub alignment/centering tool for a BMW n55 engine! The alignment tool’s job is to keep the hub/friction stack secure so it can’t walk while torquing to 100nm (74 ft-lbs) followed by 270°. If the hub does walk, there will be excess runout and there won’t be a proper seal, along with other issues. Not to mention it’s a waste of a one time use $20-$40 steel stretch bolt! The finishing pass was completed on a lathe, but could’ve been done on the mill. The stock the part was machined out of was 10”x10”x1/2” square, so it would’ve been a pain to complete the whole job on the lathe. The mill made the lathes job much easier and quicker, while also giving me more experience with a different material on the mill!

A different project for us today. The original dust cover for a headlight assembly would no longer fit due to aftermarket bulbs, so this was the result! Also learned some new features in CAD while making the design. Even after using the same program for years there’s always something new! The original seal fit in perfectly, and the new cover snapped right in just like the OEM cover would!

The failing y-axis motor on our pit board printer was replaced, so all boards are available for purchase again.

The insert weights for GFR-1402 front arms have been printed to verify fitment. After applying the physical material properties to the models, the total weight of them came out to be about 7.5-8g. This is the same as the flat cover plate they offer. I’m not 100% sure what I’m going to do with the design of them going forward due to them doing the same thing as the already offered plate. It’s likely that I will cut the bottom lip off and make the hole go the whole way through so they can be used with and without the plates GFRP offers. This will make them more versatile, allowing for more fine tuning options.

A couple of boards heading out today!

The filament came, but I’m still waiting on the replacement motor. Looking like I’ll probably get it sometime near the middle-end of the coming week. After that boards will be available to order again!

Brass has been restocked! I got about a pound worth of the arm inserts milled up over the weekend.

I’ll be ordering more stock to mill more shortly.

All pit boards are temporarily out of stock, ones already ordered will still be processed and shipped. Waiting on more filament and a stepper motor to replace the one that appears to be going bad.

I could only find the OEM motor overseas, so it will be a week or two before boards are available again.
