October seems like a long way off, but Pumpkin Spice will probably be out before we know it.

I am simply sick and tired of the Urban legends, fake news, ignorant and non-sensical posts about fentanyl laced zip ties, playing cards, dollar bills and other what not being left on cars, so the Boogie Man can traffic kids and women. These are all simply false. Zero evidence and Zero reported cases.

Good Morning! Several people have reached out and asked what the essay was that I gave to Tony Richardson on the podcast. As I said it was a writing project on "What the National Anthem Mean to Me". My daughter wrote it in elementary school in 2012.

By request here's what she wrote.

** "O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave" These words ring through the halls and the classroom each morning, yet so many kids do not think twice about it, but I do. Some kids think of the National Anthem as a meaningless song. They act as though standing for the national anthem each morning is a nuisance and they couldn't be bothered, thinking "ugghh" when is this going to be over. I, however, take pride in my country and stand proud each morning while I listen to the national anthem and say the pledge of allegiance.

The national anthem was written during the War of 1812, while America was fighting the British. Soldiers kept watching to see what flag was still standing. When the battle finally ended, they saw it was the American Flag. I can only imagine how the soldiers felt to see the flag still standing. I think about this each morning and afternoon as I help raise the flag for our school. I am safety patrol and this is part of my duty each day. When I look up and see the flag waving in the air, I always take a moment to myself to think about all those soldiers who fought for us to be free and those that still are. I just wish all kids my age would recognize how important the national anthem is and what it really means to this country. **

I made mistakes along the way with raising my kids in a coparenting scenario. But I think I got a lot of stuff right. When I am gone, I hope that they remember the positive things that we accomplished and forgive me for the things I missed the mark on.
