I’m someone who wants to leave your wedding as someone you can trust to calm the chaos, make jokes with and have a good time!!

Seriously, I want to be someone who is present on your wedding day or with your family because photos aren’t just snapshot, they are a way of inviting people into your world!

I want to be someone who sees you, asks questions to get to know you and shows up as someone you trust… because this isn’t just me taking your photo, this is me showing up and giving you evidence of the goodness of life and if I’m going to do that then I want to learn about you!!

Think of it this way, when we meet I want to pull up a chair at my table like we are sitting down for coffee (tea in my case) and chatting like friends! Tell me your worries and your excitements! I’m like a friend you haven’t seen in a while and you’re giving me a spark notes version of your story. I’ll grab my tea, maybe a snack and sit and listen.

Because there’s nothing like someone telling me, hey, we got engaged here, we etched our names into this bench (second to last photo) and it finally feels like we’ve put the last piece in the puzzle. This is forever!

Come on!! That’s the kind of stuff that gets me excited and celebrating with you.

Give me all the sappy, lovey dovey stuff because I cannot wait to get to know you!

Wedding days don’t have to be Pinterest perfect to feel real….

Don’t get me wrong I LOVE Pinterest and use it all the time, but your wedding doesn’t have to be perfectly curated to be beautiful or meaningful.

The best part of your day whether it’s just the two of you eloping or celebrating with your people is the connection.

It’s the beauty of relationship celebrating who you are and the sacredness of marriage.

Like this moment… they didn’t just want to walk down the aisle, they wanted people to pray for them as they walked down. A meaningful moment of two hearts coming together and those around them giving their blessing.

THIS is what it’s all about.

I always think about how y’all will see these images years from now when you pull them out to look at them or even now.

The journey of becoming parents.
How just the two of you became three.
How your body stretched and made room.
How your husband drove to every store or restaurant to pick up a craving you had that day just to satisfy the little things.

It’s the images that tell your story long before your child was in the picture but when they look back it they’ll see mom and dad adoring each other. They willl see how you loved. They will see the beginning of an adventure they are now a part of. The start.

These images aren’t just for the here and now, it’s for the story you get tell your kids of how “disgustingly” you and dad were in love. 🥹

Have you ever been somewhere and you get transported to the moment?

You hear the giggles and the laughter.
You remember the smell of summer.
Unending snacks and summer bliss.
The way everything just felt like the “perfect” day.

Childhood summers are filled with so much wonder. It’s the sweet intermission between school and having the time of your life.

As Phineas would say, “So, Ferb, what do you wanna do today? There’s a world of possibilities. Maybe we should make a list.”
