What's a remainder? 🧐

Remainders are publisher overstock! 📚📚📚

They are new books that indie bookstores can buy in bulk at a discount. Then, we can pass the savings on to you! 👏

🤩 I scour the remainder titles and vet each one before putting them on the Ink & Page shelves. I look for books with great reviews so I know we are stocking fabulous books.

Remainders are new books that are overstocked by the publisher or could be returned books from large retailers like Target. 🎯

✔️ All remainders have a remainder mark. The little black or red dot/line/stripe on the bottom or top edge serves a purpose:

✨ It identifies the book as a remaindered copy and prevents stores from returning it to the publisher for full credit later.

Last chance to trade in your preloved books at Ink & Page! 📚📚📚

This little shop will be closing when our lease ends at the end of June, and I am very much looking forward to focusing on my family. 🩷🩷 But we're not quite done yet!

We will still be taking used books for store credit through the end of May. Credit can be used for anything on the store or on special orders through June 13th.

We are looking for current and popular fiction titles in great to excellent condition. ✨We are no longer taking non-fiction or kids books.

Our last regular sales day will be June 13th. After that, we will focus on liquidating any remaining inventory. I will let you know how that will work closer to that time.

Our most frequent request is...

"Can you pleeeeaaase take BOTM books?"

We used to decline BOTM titles because, honestly, BOTM is a huge competitor for indie bookstores and we didn't want to become a BOTM store!! 🫠

However, we have been asked so much that we have reconsidered. Along with other used books, we will be accepting select BOTM titles into our gently used selection starting now! We will also take Aardvark and similar under the same conditions.

Here's the deal:

We are looking for popular BOTM titles with great Goodreads ratings (our customers frequently refer to Goodreads to help them select books!) 📚

We take BOTM titles that are in excellent to like new condition. No rips, tears, stains, or wear. Take those book jackets off while reading and keep them looking pristine! 🩷

Our final decision on what we take is based on popularity, Goodreads rating, condition, and what we already have in stock. 📚

What we give you for your BOTM books: We give a flat $2.25 in store credit for the BOTM titles that we take. 💵

We don't just take BOTM titles, of course!! Bring us all of your gently used, popular titles in great-excellent condition, and we'll give you 15% of the retail price in store credit for the books we take! ✨

*Retail for books with remainder marks will be calculated at 50% of the listed price. We will give you 15% of that amount in store credit.

*Books that have discount stickers will be taken at 15% of the tagged price.

*We will not take books with stickers on the front other than Target or B&N. Other stickers do not come off cleanly.

Bring your books in during store hours, and we'll go through them while you browse!

What's a Blind Date With a Book? 🩷

Well, let me tell ya!!

✨ We pick a fabulous book off of our shelves and wrap it up all super cute with ribbon, stickers, and bookmarks.

✨ We add a little description of the book, but we keep the cover and title our little secret.

✨ You grab a blind date that speaks to you and have a pretty gift for you or someone else!

✨ If you've already read the book, blind dates can be brought back for a return or exchange for 30 days.

✨ Our blind dates are currently available in-store only, but we are working on an online option, so stay tuned!
