We’ve been a little quiet on social media lately… but we’ve definitely been busy.

Let’s do some catching up.

At first glance, this may look like a traditional shadow box. But here’s the part we’re most proud of:

Everything you see is wood.

The frame? Wood.
The photo? Wood.
The rank? Wood.
Every patch, crest, tab, and detail? Wood.

No vinyl. No stickers. No printed decals. No shortcuts.

Earlier this year, Shawn unexpectedly lost his father. We were able to obtain a handwritten note from him that simply read:

“For you, with all my love.” ✍️

We carefully enhanced the handwriting and incorporated it directly into the shadow box, preserving a piece of his father forever. It’s those personal touches that transform a project from a display piece into a family heirloom.

Congratulations, Master Sergeant Thibodeaux. Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and leadership. Job well done. 🇺🇸

The funny thing is… I used to think cutting boards were a complete waste of time.

I’d turn down making them left and right. Hard no. Mainly because the market is absolutely flooded with them… and honestly? I just wasn’t very good at making them… YET.

Fast forward a few years and while the market may still be saturated…I think I’ve gotten tiny bit better at making them.🤏🏽

Of course, it helps when you start with absolutely stunning exotic hardwoods from our friends at Stella Sawmill!

This wild pattern features:
• Purple Heart 💜— often times sourced from Brazil, Guyana, & Suriname
• Paduk 🔸— often times sourced from Cameroon, Nigeria, & Angola

Sometimes social media really is a wild and awesome place. A few posts, a few projects, and somehow you end up connecting with incredible companies and people from all over the country.

That’s exactly what happened with our pals over at UltraClear Epoxy. They reached out on the gram and sent over some of their product for us to try — and let’s just say… we think we’ve found the PERFECT project to put their epoxy to the test. 👀🔥

We’re not giving away too much just yet… but stay tuned, because this one is going to be straight up sorcery. 🪄✨

We’re incredibly thankful for the opportunity and excited to see what this collaboration turns into.

One of the coolest parts about this journey has been watching how social media can connect makers, and creators in ways that never would’ve happened otherwise.
