Randall RG1003H came in today with no output.

Traced it back to a shorted zener to ground that had sacrificed itself in the name of Prong and Static X which then took out an opamp and a bridge. Good times!

No worries, this tough little solid amp is back in action.

1990 Series 6 Trace Elliot bass amp.
Failed power supply

Subject of a prior repair, unreliable components were replaced.

Someone was big fan of copius amounts of hot glue..!

Switching jacks were highly oxidized and cleaned.
The speaker plug was replaced as well.

The original repair had damaged a section of PCB trace under one of the main filtering caps and had to be rebuilt.

Heatsink was cleaned and fresh compound applied

This beast is owned by a young local musician, now he will be back rocking 🤘

Ibanez PN12

Factory fretwork left sharp edges and uneven fret tops. (level/crown needed) Nut slots too high causing playability issues.

A bit of work later, plays as good anything. 👍

Any decent instrument can play great if setup and maintained properly.

Looking forward to getting this back to its owner so they can feel the difference!

As I swap in and out prototypes, eliminate pedals replacing commercial units for my own its gotten a bit messy.. Time for a rebuild and a new pair of gates!

1977 Guild S-100

Killer relic, well played and loved for the past 4 decades.

In for a fresh setup and a once over, crazy low action plays fast!

Using our new fretboard cleaner/conditioner and applicator we developed for the shop.

Now if I could only wind my own strings... 🤪🤣

Preping for a fret level crown and polish.
Bolt on with a mild ski jump from 14 on.
