A little update since closing in January… ❤️
Beau and I have moved into a 1930s farmhouse on 120 acres about two hours away from Mooresville, I work fully remote, I’ve been traveling a lot (in and out of the country—I wonder where my next trip will be 🤔), and we’re living a much different life than we used to.
Do I miss the store? Absolutely. I’m reminded of it almost every day—from memories that pop up on social media to simply looking around my house. I still have the outdoor signs and so many of the handmade signs that I was gifted hanging up around here. They’re little pieces of a chapter of my life that I’m not quite ready to let go of.
Some days are harder than others. Closing something I poured so much of myself into for more than four years wasn’t easy. But the peace and calm that came from stepping away from the 24/7 stress, responsibility, and struggle was very much welcomed.
Honestly, it’s the connections and the friendships that I miss the most. The people I met, the relationships I built, the conversations, the laughs, and all of the memories made along the way. ❤️
I’ve learned that sometimes a chapter can end without it meaning that you failed. Sometimes it simply means it’s time to turn the page and see what’s next.
This is just a stop on the journey of life, and who knows where it will take Beau and me. Maybe another adventure, another trip, another unexpected opportunity… who knows? And I’m okay with not knowing.
So I’ll leave you with this:
Slow down. Take a deep breath. Watch the sunset like we do every day. And if there’s one thing these sunsets have reminded me of, it’s that there is always something beautiful waiting when you slow down long enough to see it. 🌅
Enjoy life. Enjoy what you’re doing. Enjoy your family. Enjoy your friends. Put down the phone, step away from the chaos, and take in the moments that are happening right in front of you.
You only have one life to live, so make it count. ❤️
