OCTOBER EVENTS!

It’s been so gloriously cool and rainy today, ya’ll and that makes me super happy. I haaate summer, the sun, the heat, etc. So, this weather has me SO pumped for fall and winter!

And, it’s October events time!

Saturday, the 3rd, I’ll be at the Curiosities and Cryptids Fest hosted by the wonderful Black Cat Books & Oddities at Lincoln Park in Tremont/Cleveland from 12-6pm. I’ve heard this event is HUGE and super fun. So, don’t miss it!

Saturday, the 10th, I’ll be participating for the first time at the Allentown Night Market in Pittsburgh from 7-11pm. This one is huge too! I’ll be in the Hilltop Market area.

And, Sunday, the 25th, I’ll be popping up at the fabulous 𝐇𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐰𝐥 | Artisan Shop in Morgantown from 10am-2pm. There are other events happening downtown too, live Vintage Fest, so mark your calendars and come see me!

Some repurposed vintage china necklaces and earrings finished up this week! All pieces are hand cut and shaped. Then, copper foiled, burnished, trimmed and soldered with lead free solder. All beads and beaded chain are upcycled from broken costume jewelry. 🩷

11 repurposed antique Victorian era microscope slide specimens from the UK finished up! I protect each slide with a piece of glass on the front (and on the back if they’re wrapped in decorative papers) and solder with lead free solder to turn these stunning pieces of history into one of a kind statement jewelry pieces.

After finishing, I then spend hours researching each slide and the mounted and create info cards for each one, which you receive with the slide jewelry. I’ll have these and so much more this Friday and Saturday at the Screw Factory Artists September Art Market. Basic info for each below, but the cards I’ve made have more details:

Five repurposed antique ladies wristwatch cases finished up! I’ve cut and shaped vintage china pieces to turn these discarded wristwatch cases into one of a kind bracelets. 🩷

1. Marion IWWCO 1920s wristwatch case with 1950s Homer Laughlin white/tan floral china piece and upcycled beaded chain.
2. Marion IWCCO 1920s wristwatch case with Liling China floral china piece from the 1970s and upcycled beaded chain.
3. No maker info, but based on the style and all the research I’ve done, this one is likely to be from the 1930s. Pope Gosser Co vintage china piece from the 1930s with upcycled beaded chain.
4. Diel Watch Case Co KOT 1838 Rolled Gold Plate 1920s-1930s with early 1900s Theodore Haviland Limoges china and two upcycled beads.
5. Napoleon IWCCO 1920s with MCM Japanese china piece from broken mug and upcycled beads.

Two antique pocket watch cases repurposed into one of a kind statement necklaces. Both of these pocket watch cases were made by AWC Co in the late 1890s. I acquire the pocket watch cases after they’ve been stripped of their parts and then repurpose them by layering antique pocket watch gears and parts back in, along with a bit of a theme for each. One of these has an octopus 🐙 and the other has a bee 🐝 Both hang from upcycled chain.

Last night was eight vintage and antique assemblage necklaces. Now, six pairs of earrings :) I love that this 1960s Regency scale had holes for the crystals that I can now use as places to hang earrings. 🖤

1. Repurposed antique watch parts and upcycled vintage beads and chain.
2. Repurposed antique watch parts and upcycled beads.
3. Repurposed antique keys hanging from circle pieces from a broken necklace. Also dangling, upcycled vintage heart locket, gold leaf charm, and beads.
4. Repurposed vintage keys, vintage baubles, and upcycled beads and chain.
5. Upcycled bird charm, bow brooch, vintage rhinestone earring part, and beads.
6. 1940s metal Cracker Jack charms and upcycled beads.

Eight new vintage and antique assemblage found object necklaces created this week. 🖤 One of my best friends was antiquing and she messaged me a photo of this 1960s Regency Scale and asked if I’d want it for my setup. It had some crystals and the scales missing. It was perfect for repurposing. As soon as I got it, I immediately went to work creating some necklaces and earrings inspired by the scale display. Scroll for a video showing each piece, as well as more photos. :)

First up are the necklaces:
1. This piece is created from a rare 1930s-1950s Talisman bubble watch piece, vintage crystals from the scale, and upcycled brass piece, beads, and chain. 🧡
2. Created from a cameo piece that was part of a choker. Dangled from the piece are upcycled beads and earring pieces. And the cameo hangs from upcycled beaded chain and chain. 🤎
3. Upcycled 1960s stunning clip on earring, hanging from upcycled beaded chain and chain. 🧡
4. 1960s crystal from the scale hanging from upcycled beaded chain and chain. 🧡
5. Vintage keyhole, vintage key, vintage chandelier crystal, and upcycled beads and chain. 🖤
6. Vintage keyhole with an antique 1920s clip on earring, as well as upcycled beads and earring pieces. Hangs from upcycled chain. 🤍
7. Antique key with vintage black cameo and upcycled beads, hanging from upcycled beaded chain and chain. 🖤
8. Antique key with upcycled beads, hanging from upcycled beaded pearl chain and chain. 🤍
