I think the market for high end vintage cards will continue to show strength - this is 1962 Willie Mays PSA 9 sale from REA is another example of how the market is treating the ultra high grade vintage cards.

Another takeaway I have is that we are in an environment where investors and collectors are not afraid of setting new high comps on cards. The fact is there is a limited supply of cards at this grade level, and a growing demand of buyers.

That will only continue to push valuations higher in my view.

theVCP tracks the public sales data across all of the major auction houses and the jump from 2025 to 2026 is more than 2x at the major auction houses such as Goldin and Fanatics Collect

The Venezuelan Topps baseball cards have become among of some of the most sought after sets of the late 1950s and 60s due to their extreme scarcity.

Of all the Venezuelan Topps sets, the 1968 set is the single most rare set in terms of population. It is the only set that does not have a 100% complete PSA registered set.

Half of the cards from the 1968 set have a population of fewer than 5 cards in existence.

The 1968 Nolan Ryan rookie is the ultimate card from the set, and the example from this specific complete set being offered is not only centered but crease free which is incredible rare. There are only 66 total Venezuelan topps Nolan Ryan rookies in existence!

A few additional key cards from this set are the Johnny Bench rookie, and the rookie cup cards of Tom Seaver and Rod Carew!

This incredible complete collection is available at auction at America's auction house - I will be eager to see where the bidding goes when it ends this weekend!

2026 has been a massive year for the sports card market.

There’s been over 25 $1M+ public sales so far this year, and it’s a clear signal of the rise of sports cards becoming an adopted alternative investment. (Thanks to Adam Gray for sharing this graphic!)
