Thank you AgGeorgia Farm Credit for supporting our market and in turn, farmers in Southwest Georgia!

As we celebrate National Farmers Market Week, we're proud to support the markets that help Georgia farmers thrive and connect communities with fresh, local products.

This year, we awarded The Funston Market by Chill C Farms a $2,000 AgGeorgia Farmers Market Grant to help expand its refrigeration capacity. The additional coolers will create more space for locally grown produce, reduce spoilage, and provide greater opportunities for farmers to sell their products.

Since opening in 2025, The Funston Market has transformed a former grocery store in downtown Funston into a vibrant community marketplace featuring more than 60 vendors, with the majority offering Georgia Grown products. Their dedication to supporting local agriculture and serving their community is exactly what our Farmers Market Grant Program is designed to encourage.

🍉James melon weighed in at 47.6 pounds WOW!🍉
He competed against 4-Her's from the entire state and won with his watermelon. We are so proud of him!

The watermelon contest is held every year through Georgia 4-H, so be on the lookout for more information to get involved next summer!
