It's hard to really understand the size of the crystals they found in the Elmwood mine. Here are a couple of pictures of my dad and a coworker in one of the large cavities they would find. Truly amazing!!!!
Dad said you could not pry a crystal off the wall, if the blast didn't break it loose it would shatter.

It is so amazing how these crystal can grow underground!!! This is a twin Calcite crystal, normally they have one point but sometimes two will form back to back.
