The Bee’s Knees started in a small kitchen located in the mighty Midwest. It started as an experiment to try my hand at the craft as a means to find a cure for my family’s troubling eczema condition & a natural, cost-effective means to combat fleas on dogs I rescue & ones I call my own. To my amazement every person who tried the handmade soap was relieved of his or her ailment! This inspired me to take things a step further by offering my products to the public. About our soap:
The Bee's Knees offers a wide range of premium organic soaps which are meticulously handmade in small batches using our special base of raw organic oils, each chosen for the unique properties they add to the finished bar. Our soaps are formulated to lock in moisture from their natural ingredients and attract moisture from the atmosphere leaving your skin feeling soft, silky and utterly pampered! They are the purest and most luxurious soaps available and you can buy them direct from us, the manufacturer, at affordable everyday prices. We handcraft our fine soaps using the Cold Process Method, which produces an exceptionally smooth and creamy soap. Cold process soap is known for its hard, long lasting quality. Depending on the oils* used, the bar can have great lather (coconut oil has excellent lathering properties), be incredibly mild (olive oil is renowned for its gentle qualities) or be very moisturizing (with the addition of oils, such as shea and cocoa butter or hemp oil). A vast majority of people find that the moisturizing effect results in no longer needing to using lotions. Our soaps are generously portioned, mild, long lasting, and will rinse clean, leaving your skin feeling soft, squeaky clean and healthy. In order for our soaps to evolve into skin ecstasy we must allow them to enhance themselves. After being extracted from the handmade molds, each loaf is then sliced into it's own individual bar. Bars will be shelved for several weeks to allow them to breath, as well as cure. Each batch is unique in its curing process, and never exactly the same. This process ranges from 3-4 weeks depending on ingredients used. Bee's Knees soaps are then mature and ready for shipping to your home. We guarantee the ingredients* we use are advantageous to your skin and health. We use only pure natural essential oils to scent our soaps and fresh, organic herbs give their wonderful color. You will find absolutely NO artificial fragrances, colorants or preservatives in our soaps. You can rest assured that the soap touching you or your loved ones skin is as pure to nature as is possible. We are proud to offer a healthy alternative! We only test our products on friends and family, never on animals! If they don't like it, we won't sell it. We create all our products to help make your daily ritual of bathing more than just a way of getting clean; it's an exciting way to start off your day or a relaxing way to end it. Every batch of soap made includes 100% organic honey from local growers. If resources are available, I tend to use ingredients from local farmers markets that have reputable names. I love supporting local small businesses and do it as often as possible. Honey has amazing health benefits on your skin as well as in your body. The benefits of honey don't just stop at satisfying the palate; honey also offers incredible antiseptic, antioxidant and cleansing properties for our body and health, hot beauty and skin care tips, and amazing healing properties as a head-to-toe remedy, from eye conjunctivitis to athlete foot. Its powerful healing attributes have long been used thousands of years ago and known to promote healing for cuts, cure ailments and diseases, and correct health disorders for generations after generations. Honey not only fights infection and aids tissue healing but also helps reduce inflammation and scarring. In addition, it is often used for treating digestive problems such as diarrhea, indigestion, stomach ulcers and gastroenteritis. I cannot offer you medical advice on honey like a medical doctor or promote honey as a substitute for professional medical care, and I don't aim to, but as a honey enthusiast, I am eager to give you all the reasons in the most laymen, simplest language that is easy for everybody to grasp and appreciate - why honey is such a superfood, why we should feel indebted to the tireless creatures which have to visit two million flowers just to provide us with one pound of honey, why everyone should always keep a jar of honey at home, and even why one should consider purchasing products that include this mighty product....such as The Bee's Knees Soaps!! I use only food grade lye in my products. What is difference between Food and Tech Grade Lye? Food grade has a lower parts per million of heavy metal impurities. 80% of soap makers prefer food grade product. It is also used in the creation of many very healthy foods. My source is certified so I know exactly what I'm getting, where it comes from (US made, no Asian imports), and that it's 100% safe for use in making my soap. Purest grades are available and that's what I buy
