Meet Dacia Case, Designer at Wasson Outdoor Design Build.

Dacia first came to Wasson six years ago as a garden center staff member, then became an intern with Wasson's Outdoor Design Build department while finishing her design degree. Now, she's back with experience, and drawn by Wasson's reputation for quality and a team that values both creativity and craftsmanship.

She designs spaces that feel both functional and beautiful. Her current recommendation: hydrangeas. Timeless, full, and classic. Exactly the kind of detail that shows up in her work.

If part of your lawn peels back like loose carpet, there’s a good chance grubs are the reason.

Grubs are the larvae of Japanese beetles, and they feed on the roots of your turf beneath the surface, often without any visible signs at first. By the time you notice brown patches in late summer or early fall, the damage has already been done.

The most effective approach is prevention. Applying grub control in late May through June, before eggs hatch and larvae begin feeding, provides the best long-term protection for your lawn.

In 1977, Dan Wasson Sr. opened the first Wasson location in Union City, Indiana, with a simple belief: that where you live should feel like somewhere worth coming home to.

May is one of our favorite months in landscape maintenance.

Everything is growing quickly, color is at its peak, and each property begins to show the full potential of thoughtful care.

Here’s what our landscape maintenance team is focused on right now:
• Deadheading spring-blooming shrubs to encourage healthy new growth
• Monitoring for aphids and other soft-bodied insects on tender foliage
• Pruning back spring bulb foliage once it has naturally yellowed
• Adjusting irrigation as temperatures rise (overwatering is more common in May than many homeowners realize)
• Refreshing mulch where winter weather has thinned coverage
