Throwing it back to this rainy-day archive with nantucket wedding photographer 🌧️🌸
I created this flat lay with local blooms and vintage teacups I’ve had for more than two decades. These beauties were grown by Grace MacLellan Webb and they were far too stunning to simply chop the stems off every single one, and use only the heads.
A little reminder from your non-weddinf florst: before you snip the blooms for a flat lay, play with the full stem first. The line from stem to bud can be just as beautiful, especially if the flower itself is meaningful to the couple.
Afterward, it can still be pressed and preserved, which also makes for such a thoughtful little thank-you or wedding gift.
During wedding season, when we are not actively designing and are instead supporting our flower community, we have a little more room to revisit old projects, think about what we learned, and make things simply for the joy of it.
A rainy-day reminder to experiment, play, and make something just because. It’s good for the brain. 🫶🏽
