What a whirlwind week it’s been. ❤️

In just a few days, we’ve been able to deliver more than 40 bicycles to people affected by the tornado. We have an additional 30 that will be delivered over the weekend.

These bikes are doing more than just getting people from Point A to Point B. They’re helping people whose cars were damaged get to work, giving families who have lost so much a little bit of normalcy, and hopefully bringing a little joy during an incredibly difficult time.

Running a small business is hard on a normal week. Taking on something like this in the middle of our busy season has been a whole different kind of challenge. There is absolutely no way we could have done this without the incredible generosity, time, and support of so many people.

We need to give a HUGE thank you to the people and businesses who have helped make this possible:

🚲 Shop Dog Cycles - for helping organize this entire effort, donating bikes, tuning bikes, providing parts, picking up bikes, and networking to help us find even more bicycles.

🚲 Wheel & Sprocket - for their incredibly generous donation of 10 bicycles.

🚲 Mark at Active Bike and Fitness - for providing bikes, tuning bikes, and storing bikes.

🚲 Nikki at Chain Reaction Cyclery - for donating a bicycle and serving as a drop-off point.

🚲 All of the other bike shops who have collected bicycles for this effort. Your willingness to jump in and help means so much.

🚲 Jon & Sally Lester - for delivering bicycles, tuning bikes, and providing pumps and helmets.

🚲 Taylor Bogdanske - for tuning bikes and delivering bikes.

🚲 Todd & Suzanne Meerdink - for tuning, cleaning, and delivering bicycles.

🚲 Nate Phelps & Ava Paruleski - for delivering bicycles and helping us get bikes where they need to go.

And most importantly, our community - everyone who donated a bicycle, donated money, shared our posts, connected us with someone who needed a bike, or found a way to help. You are the reason this has been possible. ❤️

This isn’t ending here. We will continue reaching out throughout the year to see who else needs a bicycle as people rebuild and figure out what comes next.

This has gotten a little overwhelming (in the very best possible way!), and we know we may have forgotten someone. If we missed you or someone who has helped along the way, please shout them out in the comments!

We are incredibly grateful to be part of a community that shows up for each other.

Thank you. Truly

The first bikes for folks affected by the tornados are being delivered by our friends at Recyclist Bicycle Co.!!! We are so happy to help with this effort, if you want to donate a functional bike to be refurbished for our neighbors affected by the tornado drop them in Kaukauna at Recyclist Bicycle Co.; in Appleton at Wheel & Sprocket, Active Bike & Fitness LLC, Affordable Bike or Chain Reaction Cyclery; in Neenah at Cranked Bike Studio or Shop Dog Cycle; or at Ride Lab in Oshkosh!

We’re beginning our first round of bicycle deliveries for families impacted by the tornado. 💙🚲

If your home, garage, or car was damaged and you need a bike for transportation, getting to work, school, just having some fun, or simply getting around, we’ve got you. Send us a DM.

We know some needs are immediate, and some will come later as cleanup and rebuilding continue. We will keep supplying refurbished bicycles throughout the year to anyone affected by the storm. If you don’t need one today but think you may in the coming weeks or months, reach out and we’ll add you to our list and arrange delivery when you’re ready.

This community has shown incredible kindness over the past week, and we’re grateful to be one small part of helping our neighbors get back on their feet.

Please share this post so it reaches anyone who could use a bike right now.

Despite the rain it was a great day at the shop yesterday! We get to work with many non-profit partners and yesterday was no exception. We had a great day of bike donations and this load is a great example of what we do with them!

In this case, bikes donated by folks in our community are able to directly benefit one of our largest partners, The Oshkosh Community Bicycle Program, with complete Bikes and specific usable materials to refurbish other bikes for our community.

We are honored to have this opportunity to get usable, donated bikes, efficiently distributed to all of the good organizations that keep them on the road! If you have a bike that is no longer useful to you, consider donating it to one of these amazing organizations!!

Congratulations !

It’s spring, and that means it’s time to donate that old bike that your kids have out grown or is just taking up space in your garage, shed or attic!! Your donated bike can get a person in our community outside, enjoying our beautiful cities, towns and parks! Transportation for adults in need means they can get to a job site, to the grocery store or just out participating in the community!! We are a drop off location for local bike non-profits including The Oshkosh Community Bike Program, Riverview Earn a Bike and Bikes for Kids Wisconsin!! Donate your bike today!! These two loads of donated bikes are on their way to help people in our community via the Oshkosh Community Bike Program!
