Beckham's Bookshop Call us at 504-766-1700. We are open 10- am- 7pm,
seven days a week, 364 days a year (an exemption for Mardi Gras) We allow dogs and beer. Come visit! p.s.

We have operated a book store in the beautiful historic French Quarter since 1967 and have been at the current location on Decatur Street since 1979. Often customers stroll by on their way to Jackson Square and Cafe du Monde for beignets, surprised that such an independently-owned book store is alive and well in this day and age. Our shop contains fifty to sixty thousand second-hand books on two

stories. Our books cover a wide array of topics including: history, music, law, cooking, fiction, philosophy, reference, art, biography, politics, religion/spirituality/occult, science, math, children's, military, geography, transportation, home and gardening, adventure/exploration, sports, poetry, theater, nature, medicine/health, sociology, essays, parenting, gender/women/sex studies, psychology, foreign languages, graphic design, crafts, humor…pretty much any topic you can imagine. We also carry new titles on New Orleans, Louisiana and the South. We place particular emphasis on histories, architecture, literature, music and cooking. Additionally, we have a large collection of second hand classical CDs and LPs. If there is a specific book or CD that you’d like to see if we have in stock, please call our shop at (504) 522-9875. We will only be checking our page periodically, so please don't send us want lists! We also operate "Librairie," a bookshop at 823 Chartres St. just one block downriver from the St. Louis Cathedral on Jackson Square.

We are thrilled to share that Steve is home!

Our family is incredibly grateful to New Orleans EMS and fire department , and the amazing doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, and staff at University Medical Center New Orleans for the extraordinary care that helped save his life and support his recovery.

We also want to thank everyone who prayed, sent messages, and kept Steve in their thoughts. Your love and support meant more than we can express.

Steve is continuing to recover, and we are thankful every day for this second chance. With his determination and progress, we expect he’ll be back at the bookshop before long, doing what he loves most.

Thank you all for being part of this journey.

Steve Update ❤️

Just a few days ago, after his heart attack and cardiac arrest, we didn’t know what the future would hold. Today, Steve is off the ventilator, sitting up in the ICU, enjoying a cup of coffee, and reading a book.
He is truly a miracle. We are grateful beyond words.

To our beloved bookstore community,

Two days ago, Steve suffered a heart attack and cardiac arrest and was transferred to UMC, where he is currently receiving care in the MICU. We are grateful to report that he is steadily improving each day.

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to New Orleans EMS, New Orleans Fire Department, and the physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and the entire MICU team at UMC. The care, expertise, and compassion they have and continue to show Steve and our family have been extraordinary, and we are profoundly thankful.

During Steve’s recovery, there may be occasional adjustments to hours at Beckham’s Bookshop due to staffing and coverage needs. Dauphine Street Books will continue to be open from 12-7pm daily.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Do not worry though, we will continue to supply both stores with oodles of great books!

Today, Beckham’s Bookshop will be open from 10 am to 2:00 PM.

Thank you for the countless prayers, messages, kindnesses, and support. Our bookstore community means the world to us, and we are grateful to walk this journey surrounded by such caring people.

With gratitude,

Steve and Katrina Lacy

In the city of New Orleans, the past and present converge with dire consequences as the magical energy shifts from light to darkness. This transformation threatens to upset the delicate mystical balance and endanger the city’s very existence.
In a time gone by, William Hebert is driven to uncover truths hidden in the shadows. His quest for answers leads him into the depths of mysteries that have shaped the fate of his beloved city. While in the present, Amanda Turner finds herself fleeing from the consequences of her past. Her journey is marked by a desperate attempt to escape, even as powerful cosmic forces draw her toward a destiny she cannot avoid. As William and Amanda’s paths converge, their intersection becomes a pivotal moment, with the survival of New Orleans hanging in the balance.
And one man stands at the center of it all: Aleister Crowley. Dubbed by the British press as “the wickedest man alive,” Crowley’s presence looms over the city, influencing the course of fate and the battle between darkness and light.
