Lots of new stock coming in and still being sorted. If anything catches your eye, comment or send a DM for pricing. This is a chance to get these pieces before they go live on the site or head out to upcoming shows.

There's a bit of everything in this round: antique medical and apothecary, religious items, circus, antique and cased photographs, funeral and mourning pieces, Oddfellows, and more. More photos will be posted over the next week, but here's what's ready so far.

If you collect something specific, let me know. Comment or message me your list. I'd rather these go to regular customers, shops, and dealers before they hit the show circuit.

Everything is located in Arkansas. Local pickup is available in Tontitown and at the new studio, and calculated shipping is an option as well. Payments accepted via PayPal or Square Invoice, with Afterpay available on invoices. Payment arrangements can also be made on larger items or lots, subject to terms.

This is only a few totes out of many, with more coming soon, including to the website. My antique booths in Fayetteville and Prairie Grove are also being restocked, and a new, larger booth is coming to Prairie Grove soon. More on that when it's ready.

The original note in this jar ties it to the Philadelphia Commercial Museum along with the others pictured. The Commercial Museum was born out of the 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philly by Dr William Wilson.

Interestingly Richard Atwater would of attended the 1876 Centennial Exposition which led him to come up with the Whitehall Tatum Specimen jar designs inspired by glassware he had seen at the expo.

And this is why I fall into research rabbit holes 😁

Today I cleaned and cataloged the museum specimen jars and the Tatum jars. The square jars are marked A.H.T, Germany — the Arthur H. Thomas Company, a major Philadelphia scientific and laboratory apparatus supplier in the early 1900s, which would have distributed this German-made glass to American labs and museums.

There's a nice bit of history tying the two collections together. Richard M. Atwater, a key figure at Whitall Tatum & Co., attended the 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia. While there, he saw an exhibit of foreign-made chemical glassware, and it pushed him to patent new designs for graduated cylinders and reagent/specimen bottles with embossed ground labels — designs that went on to become industry standards. In other words, Whitall Tatum was essentially answering the same European glass that A.H.T. was importing and selling.

So this isn't just a shelf of old jars. It's really two threads of the same story: the late-19th-century American push to build a domestic scientific and museum glass supply, both rooted in the same Philadelphia/South Jersey glass corridor.
