La Calle Se Levanta 🇵🇷🗽🫶🏻
Huge thank you to Al, the owner of , for letting me paint a piece for his restaurant. It means so much to create something that shows love for both Puerto Rico and New York …the two places that shaped me.
When I first walked into Kiosko and saw all the beautiful art on the walls, I was so inspired. I reached out and asked if I could add my own piece… and Al said yes. That moment meant everything.
Painting this was so exciting. I put my heart into it …my story, my culture, my memories.
I grew up on DeKalb Ave, between Knickerbocker and Irving. Back in the day, we used to celebrate the Puerto Rican Day Parade in the streets without permission. We just did it… because we had pride and wanted to be seen.
Now, here we are just celebrated the 7th year of the Bushwick Puerto Rican Day Parade. That’s amazing! It’s beautiful to see our community come together, waving flags, dancing, and showing our Boricua pride.
To everyone who liked, shared, commented, or followed me THANK YOU! 🫶🏻You really hit my heart with all the love.
La Calle Se Levanta! Let’s continue rising together.👊🏼
