Rooted & Wild is officially out in the world.

Even typing that feels a little surreal.

This isn’t my first book, but this one feels different.

Very different.

Because I didn’t sit down one day and decide to write Rooted & Wild.

These essays were written over the past few years. Different moments. Different seasons. Different versions of me.

And somewhere along the way, without really knowing it at the time, I was writing a book.

A book I held in my hands today.

A book I opened and started reading…

…and promptly started crying.

There is so much I could tell you about what’s inside these pages.

But I don’t want to.

I want you to meet it for yourself.

I want you to turn the pages without me standing beside you explaining them. I want the words to find you wherever you happen to be when you read them.

Because these essays may have started as mine…

but what you find in them gets to be yours.

And I think I’m ready for that.

Well… this is starting to feel very real. 🌿📖

A first look at the cover of my upcoming book, Rooted & Wild: Essays on Identity, Nature & Becoming.

This collection grew out of a season of reflection, grief, creativity, change, and learning how to come back to myself.

It explores identity, nature, anger, aging, belonging, boundaries, creativity, and the quiet work of becoming more fully yourself.

Proof copies are on the way, and I cannot wait to hold this one in my hands.

I know I haven’t been posting a whole lot of business stuff lately.

Truthfully, I needed a minute.

Life handed me a breakup, and I needed some space to move through it instead of pretending I was fine, forcing creativity, or trying to show up like nothing had happened.

So I gave myself that.

I wrote. I cried. I got angry. I got quiet. I spent time outside. I worked on my book. I let myself feel all the things that apparently come with untangling yourself from something you thought was going to look very different.

And somewhere along the way…I started feeling like me again.

Not “everything is magically perfect” me.

Just grounded. Clearer. Curious about what’s next.

And, maybe most importantly, excited again.

I’m actually itching to get back to my workbench. My photo booth is calling my name. I have stones waiting to become something beautiful, ideas rolling around in my head, and OH YEAH…

I HAVE A BOOK TO PUBLISH. 😂📖

So if Small Town Gyrl has seemed a little quieter lately, that’s why.

I needed some time to tend to the woman behind the business.

She’s doing pretty damn good now.

And she’s ready to make some s**t. ❤️🌿✨
