Almond blossom on the Deutsche Weinstraße where 2,000 years ago Romans planted the first vines, and the almonds they used for traditional medicine and skincare.

And now Palatinate enjoys the earliest spring in Germany thanks to those almond trees, their blossom ranging from white to pink.

Der Pfälzer Mandelpfad, Palatinate Almond trail, on the German Wine Route, runs for 85 km/53 ml through almond tree avenues and wine villages large and small, and since 21 February has been home to "Die Pfälzer Mandelwochen". Palatinate Almond Weeks.

In the west of Germany, Rheinland-Pfalz, Rhineland-Palatinate, is bordered by German states North Rhine-Westphalia, Saarland, Baden-Württemberg and Hesse, as well as France, Luxembourg and Belgium.
