4 years without the legendary Jason David Frank, today would've been his 53rd birthday 🎂⚡

Tommy Oliver was originally introduced as the enemy the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers had to defeat. Instead, the Green Ranger became so popular that Jason David Frank’s character grew into one of the most enduring heroes in the entire franchise.

Frank returned to Tommy again and again, taking him from Green Ranger to White Ranger, Zeo Ranger V Red, Red Turbo Ranger, and eventually Dr. Tommy Oliver, the veteran Black Dino Ranger guiding a new generation. Few actors became as closely identified with Power Rangers as he did.

His memorable roles include:

The colors changed, the powers changed, and years passed—but Tommy Oliver always felt like Jason David Frank’s character. His bond with Ranger fans lasted far beyond the original series and made his appearances feel like reunions rather than simple cameos.
